Someone ignores the process, and you respond by adding a new rule for the entire team.

That’s how bureaucracy grows.

That’s how trust dies.

Policies are expensive.

Use them for patterns.

For one-offs, handle it directly:

  • Clear expectation
  • Clear consequence
  • Private conversation
