Update your perception

A couple of weeks ago I had a video call with a former colleague, now friend, of mine. We had a loose chat about what happened recently and suddenly that guy sad I am sure you turned red like tomato.

Go f%#$ yourself I thought.

This guy called me out on something used to happen to me years ago.

He treated me like the version I was years ago.

But what really bothered me; I am doing the same. I often judge people by the impression I remember from them years ago — without considering any growth.

I don't want to be judged by the version I was years ago, so I shouldn't do the same. People invest in themselves, they learn new skills, they meet new people, they reflect, they change.

The version of you and me from 5 years ago doesn't exist anymore.

Still, we are both judging people by who they were at that time.

Who are you still wrong about?
